Helen is a multilingual first-class graduate of Spanish and Russian and a master's student of Slavonic Studies at the University of Oxford. She has lived abroad during her studies of Russian, gaining a very high level of understanding of both Russian culture and the Russian language. Her most notable linguistic achievement to date is her success in 2019's International Olympiad for Russian as a Foreign Language - a competition organised by St. Petersburg State University and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
