Engine Component AeroThermal facility

Lucas

I’m currently pursuing a DPhil (PhD) degree in the High Speed Turbomachinery group at the University of Oxford.

My research focuses on developing methods for predicting the impact of deterioration on the performance of aircraft engine cooling systems.

To achieve this, I employ a combination of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental validation.

Experiments are performed on deteriorated vanes provided by Rolls Royce and conducted in the Engine Component AeroThermal facility (ECAT).

My life outside of work

As someone who is constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities, my life outside of work is filled with diverse experiences and adventures.

One of the most exciting and meaningful pursuits I have undertaken is my role as a co-founder of KiteGeneration, a kitesurfing school in Sardinia.

This project was made possible through the Sulcis Plan, a fund for the revival of the economic system of the Sardinia Sulcis Iglesiente area.

At Kitegeneration, Punta Trettu Kite Center Sardinia, we promote active and eco-sustainable tourism in the region.
